Rockdoor Classic or Vogue: which composite French doors suit your home?
Our composite French doors are Rockdoor doors: a high-density foam core, an aluminium-reinforced frame, Winkhaus multi-point locking and S-Glaze sealed glass. Rockdoor makes most of its styles as French doors; two of the styles we have fitted are shown here.

A traditional pair, with a tall pane of glass above a moulded lower panel. We have fitted it in White and in Rosewood, some with slim sidelights or small flag windows.

A cleaner, more modern pair, with slim upright panes of glass in a flat slab. We have fitted it in Agate Grey with a matching outside frame, and in White.

Security
Multi-point locking holds the pair shut at several points, and the frames are reinforced. That is a lot more to get past than an old timber or uPVC pair.
Warmth
An insulating foam core, double glazing and weatherproof seals cut draughts and heat loss, even across a big glazed opening.

Timber French doors swell, rot and stop sealing well. A composite pair keeps its shape and its seal.

Everything is chosen at the design stage, so the price in your quote is the final price.

Colour£70 for a colour other than white
Choose from 14 Rockdoor colours, and pick a different one for the inside of the pair if you like: 196 combinations. We have fitted French doors in White, Agate Grey and Rosewood, so you can match your frames outside and your room inside.
Most of our French doors have clear glass, so the garden stays in view. If you want more privacy, ask about obscured, frosted or decorative glass instead.
Sidelights£300–£500 per panel
A sidelight on each side brings in more light and fills a wider opening. We have fitted Classic French doors with slim sidelights in Leicestershire and with two large side panels in Kenilworth.
Handles and hardwareIncluded in the price
Lever handles in chrome, black, gold and brushed steel finishes, matched to your door colour. Each door has its own lock and handle, so a French door can’t take a bar handle.
SecurityStandard on every pair
Multi-point locking and an anti-snap cylinder on every pair. With so much glass, it matters that S-Glaze seals each pane into the door, so it can’t be taken out from outside. Laminated glass is available if you want more protection.

Are composite French doors secure?
Yes. They have multi-point locking and an anti-snap cylinder, and the frames are reinforced. The glass is sealed into each door with S-Glaze rather than clipped in, and laminated glass is available if you want more protection.
Are composite French doors better than uPVC French doors?
Composite doors are thicker and heavier than uPVC, so they are harder to force, and they hold their shape and their seal. uPVC can warp and discolour over time. Our French doors are made to measure for your opening.
Are composite French doors energy efficient?
Yes. An insulating foam core, double glazing and weatherproof seals cut draughts and heat loss, and they seal better than old timber doors, which swell and stop closing well. Rockdoor rates the Classic B, as it does other styles with big panes of glass.
What is the difference between French doors and a double door?
The lock. French doors have a lock on each door, so both open easily onto a patio, and both have lever handles. A double door opens on one key, with finger bolts holding the second door shut, and can have a bar handle on each door. We fit both.
What colours do composite French doors come in?
Any of Rockdoor’s 14 colours, and the inside can differ from the outside. We have fitted French doors in White, Agate Grey and Rosewood. See Rockdoor colours.
Can I have sidelights with my French doors?
Yes. A sidelight on each side lets in more light and suits a wider opening. Each panel typically adds £300–£500 to the price.
Should I choose French doors or bifold doors?
French doors suit a standard opening and give you a secure pair. If you want a much wider opening that folds right back, look at our aluminium bifold doors.
How long do composite French doors take?
Expect around seven weeks from order to fitting. We quote within 24 hours, then measure the opening carefully, because a pair has to fit it exactly.
