The Ultion Plus was the first lock to pass the Sold Secure Diamond 2024 test – the newest and toughest cylinder standard set by the Master Locksmiths Association. It also carries the TS007 3 Star Kitemark in its own right (no special handles needed) and Secured by Design, the police preferred specification.

What Makes the Plus Different: ALPS Protection
Every decent 3 star cylinder resists snapping. The Ultion Plus is built to defeat every known attack method – including two that most locks aren’t even tested against:
Thermal attack – some burglars use extreme temperature to weaken a lock’s internals. The Plus has ALPS exhaust ports that let heat escape before it can do damage.
Twist attack – grip and twist the cylinder, and the ALPS TwistTrap instantly fires the rotator into a trap mechanism, locking everything solid.
Snap attack – sacrificial break points snap exactly where they’re designed to, and a hidden Lockdown Mode engages deep inside the molybdenum core. Even with the front snapped clean off, the door stays locked.
Picking – 11 pins where most locks have 5 or 6, giving 294,970 possible key combinations.
Drilling, bumping and pulling – all covered, all Kitemark tested, with 20 hardened steel anti-drill pins and plates at each end.
It’s also been tested to over 750,000 operating cycles – more than seven times what the British Standard requires – with a key that’s 60% thicker and more durable than a standard door key.

Euro cylinders are measured from the central fixing screw hole out to each end. The easiest check: undo the one fixing screw in the edge of your door, slide the old cylinder out, and measure both sides in millimetres.
35/35 (70mm overall) is the most common size on composite and uPVC doors. 40/40 (80mm overall) suits thicker doors and some handle combinations. The cylinder should sit flush with your handle or escutcheon, or protrude no more than 3mm – any more and you’d be giving a burglar something to grip.

Key/Key means the lock takes a key on both sides. It’s the right choice where there’s glass in or beside the door – a thumbturn within reach of broken glass is a weakness. Key/Thumbturn gives you a key outside and a turn-knob inside, so you can always get out without hunting for a key – popular for family homes and anywhere fire escape is the priority.
Every Ultion Plus includes free Key Control registration. Once registered, copies of your key can only be cut through Ultion with your ID – so a key that’s been “borrowed” for an afternoon can’t be quietly duplicated at the local key cutter. Need more than 3 keys? Extra keys are ordered securely through Ultion Key Control once your lock is registered.
The Ultion Plus is a standard euro profile cylinder, so it’s a straight like-for-like swap on virtually any multi-point locking door – including Rockdoor and GRP composite doors. Fitting takes one screw and about five minutes with a normal screwdriver.
