  • Super Security With Our Composite Back Doors

All our doors come standard with a 3-star lock and a robust Winkhaus 2-hook locking mechanism that utilises a shoot bolt and 25mm throw hooks, providing a formidable first line of defence.

Other standard features include a steel-reinforced outer frame and an aluminium-reinforced inner frame, coupled with high-impact skins. This powerful combination takes your home’s security to another level.

For those prioritising security, our upgrades elevate protection to the next level. Options include a 4-hook locking mechanism, laminated glass, and steel mesh, all designed to bolster the security of your back door. Experience unparalleled peace of mind with our composite back doors' superior security features.

Steel Outer-frame

The outerframe profile, sourced from Rehau, boasts a thickness of 72mm. This facilitates a complete steel reinforcement around the edges, providing not only robust and secure anchor points for the back door installation, but also for the hinge and lock strip screws. This reinforcement results in improved screw retention, thereby bolstering the overall security.

Core

The core of your composite back door is filled with a specific high-density polyurethane foam. Despite its lightness, it provides remarkable strength and durability when enclosed between the internal and external skins, each 3mm thick and highly impact-resistant. An optional steel mesh can be incorporated for additional reinforcement, similar to how steel strengthens concrete.

Laminated Glass

Opting for Laminated Glass is an affordable enhancement for your new back door. Given that most back doors incorporate ample glass to let in a flood of light, the selection of laminated glass is a worthwhile consideration. It not only provides peace of mind but also makes any attempted break-ins significantly more challenging

Locking

Our back doors come standard with a 2-hook locking system, which includes a top and bottom hook each with a 25mm throw, along with a central shoot bolt. These are contained within sizeable gearboxes inside the locking mechanism and engage into a one-piece steel lock keep on the outer frame. For added security, there’s an option to upgrade to a 4-hook system for your composite back door.

Composite Back Door FAQ

Our composite back doors are extremely secure, even in standard form, however there are upgrades to further enhance security like steel mesh, 4 hook locking and laminated glass.

Yes, however you will need either clear on the front piece or back piece of glass to have laminated.

Absolutely, a popular option is laminated glass with Stippolyte backing glass, combining the best of both worlds.

This is entirely your decision, if security is a priority, then 4 hooks is a small price to pay for extra piece of mind and security.

The steel mesh option is like a grid of steel, welded together and is added to the door in production, which is then surrounded by the high density foam. This adds extra strength and make it harder to cut-through your back door.

This is entirely your decision, and like the 4 hook locking, it's a small price to pay for the extra piece of mind and security it gives you.
